Phone carriers now require all businesses that send text messages to register a phone number under the A2P 10DLC standard. It sounds complicated, but it’s simply a way for carriers to make sure your text messages get delivered reliably. All business text messages must be transparent — customers need to immediately know who is messaging them and why.
To make sure your Hostme reservation and waitlist confirmations, reminders, and other alerts reach customers without being flagged or blocked, we recommend registering your business and using a dedicated phone number for your restaurant. If you prefer not to set up a dedicated number, don’t worry — the default Hostme SMS service has you covered.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Registration is recommended for all businesses sending texts notifications. Texts from unregistered numbers can be blocked by carriers or get flagged as spam.
  • Phone number approval can take up to 48 hours, depending on Twilio's support responsiveness.
  • Information you provide will be used only for registration with Twilio.
